February 13, 2015 – Miami, Florida - Tiara Yachts President, Tom Slikkers, announced today the introduction of a new Q 44 Tiara uniquely designed as a go anywhere, do-‐anything luxury adventure yacht. Tiara gave a sneak peak at the concept to media, customers, dealer partners and marine enthusiasts during the second day of the Miami International Boat Show. A stylish, timeless Tiara sheerline highlights the design which is meant to deliver a yachting experience similar to and in the spirit of EXPLORATION in and around great lakes, open oceans, remote islands and mysterious coastlines. The new Q 44 merges the modern style of the successful Tiara COUPE series with new technologies and classic Tiara heritage.
“It is a very exciting time to be a manufacturer of luxury yachts. The success of our COUPE series and the resurgence of the classic Tiara line are driving our growth. The “Q” series will create an entirely new market segment of adventure yachting, a luxury SUV of sorts. We expect to deliver several models in this class and look forward to her official launch in early summer,” Tom Slikkers, President and CEO, Tiara Yachts.
The Q 44 is focused on multiple use elegant cruising for a couple with the added abilities to be a fishing boat, family day-‐yacht, entertaining, diving and lounging. The boat is built on the 44 Coupe hull with full walk around capabilities. The bridge and lounge seats are accessed through port and starboard entries while the entertaining will be focused around the island style outdoor galley. Just aft, the cockpit opens to a lengthy, full-‐beam swim platform offering an enormous, water level deck to enter and exit your favorite remote cove. The bow will serve as a second entertainment area with safe access, forward seating, lounging and hull-‐side storage space. Optional Mediterranean sun shades fore and aft keep the sun at bay.
The Q 44 may be optioned with Volvo Penta pod drives or a traditional straight drive system powered by Cummins. Performance will be very similar to the Tiara 44 Coupe with a confident cruise at 25-‐30 MPH and a top end of 35 MPH with the Volvo Penta package. The glass cockpit will accompany the Volvo Penta and Cummins engines.
A simple and elegant cabin with a queen berth features a pantry style galley with basic cooking necessities including a microwave, coffee maker and refrigerator. An ample prep area and large pantry conveniently serves guests and owners. Hard woods, architectural finishes and modern fabrics add to her luxury below.
Everything you love about the COUPE series, the great lines, the outdoor/in living and layout, the advanced glass cockpit and the architectural interior translates to the new Q 44 packed with quality and luxury.
“We are designing the Q 44 with customer and dealer focused input but also taking the project to new heights and pioneering areas of design we feel will be appealing to a broad range of customers. And customers investing in our latest designs have the confidence of 60 years of boat and yacht building experience backing their decision to purchase a Tiara Yacht,” George Hetzel, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, S2 Yachts.
